Living Longer

Dear Diary,

God I hate being broke!

Its really bad right now. I shouldnt have sent the full mortgage payment. My mom raised us to get our bills and debts paid on time, preserve our good credit, blah blah blah. Which I think is a great thing to learn. But if Im paying a bill at the expense of grocery and basic necessities money, gas, etc. Then I should have just paid a third of the mortgage and just kept the rest to make it through the next few weeks. But then I was afraid I wouldnt be able to catch up. I will not be able to have money again until November 1st. UGH!

So Im trying to get creative and come up with some other money in the meantime via other means. Wish I was just getting my damn support payments. We wouldnt have to live like this. I also need to get better at budgeting out my money.

Well On a positive note, this AM on the way to work I won 4 tickets to the circus on the radio. It starts Wednesday thru Sun. So Ill have to try and go during the week since kids see their Dad this weekend. Something we could do. Just wish I had that spot of the number 4 seat and a guy I love to go along with me. ::Sigh::

B wont even be an option hes gonna be working.

My Mom brought me over a part of the local paper yesterday. The old man from my childhood where I grew up. I wrote about him before. Hes about 75. Me and the kids go and visit him now and then, and Ive been visiting him ever since he was a little girl. Well he was Senor of the Year last year here. and this year he is featured on the front cover. They are going to have a Senior Expo here. And Margaret O’Brien the actress will be there. How cool! I guess I know her best from being in Little Women, the old one with Elizabeth Taylor.

So My mom shows me this years Nominee’s for Senor of the Year. OUR DOCTOR!

How cool! It was very touching to see what was submitted for him.

He truly is a great man. Hes about 76yrs old and still practicing general medicine! He delivered me as a baby, and he was both my childrens pediatrician when they were born. He lost his wife awhile back to breast cancer which was very tough on him, especially since hes a Dr. But he bike rides, he has a picture on his wall of himself white water rafting. His practice is closed now, he only sees patients hes had in his practice and their families, which was the only way my children got into to see him.

His office hasnt changed. It still is stuck in that 60s decor from when I was a kid. But hes a sweet man. My Dad sees him regularly for his health problems. People are always asking him when hes gonna retire. And they posted this in the paper article. He replied “Ill retire when I get old!” haha And the woman who nominated him was part of his staff, she said he even gets his little black dr bag and makes trips to some of his patients homes when they are too sick to come in. Cant find many doctors like that nowadays! I would really like to see him win!
