To Do List

Dear Diary,

Well I just checked my bank balance and see that the IRS deposited the tax refund!

Now comes the big task for me.

Yucky.

I opened the phone book and couldnt figure out what to look under. I basically need a whole shower stall ripped out and the pan replaced.

I call several numbers in the yellow pages, one doesnt exsist and the number is for something else, NICE.

Sooo. I call people who do remodels, who refer me to a Plumber, who turns out to be the very Plumbers I just used!

So Im all happy since they did my house and work for my parents for years,,, so I call them. And they tell me I first need to call a Tile guy, to do the demo, rip out the floor, etc..

So they give me name of a Tile guy but dont have his number off hand, I look in phone book and cant find him either but find another guy, call him, no answer, no machine,,,, grrrr.

This is such a pain. Im gathering this might take several types of contractors to do once it comes down. A Plumber, a Tile Guy, and then depending on the damage inside the wall, I may need another type of guy, if there is a mold problem, if they need to redo some of the wood inside, and then drywall and all.

I so hate doing this. My ex husband would have done it all for me. He called me last week left a message saying he thinks he has someone for me that can do it, but he never returned my call when I asked for the info. And hes not the top person on my list to call with him hanging around my sister (The Dickhead)

Sooo, fun fun fun.

I then emailed my gym buddy who does electrical and asked him if he can still fix the electrical in my laundry room. As I want to get that fixed also.

And then really the other thing I want done is a door installed for my oldest childs bedroom.

I was telling B I should get a video cam and send in my needed home repairs to one of those home shows. As theres so much odds and ends stuff to be done in this house(I was married before to a construction guy, which are famous for starting but not completing things)

You want to hear what its like?

Living Room – Need the living room window glass replaced as there is a large crack down one of the panes. Front door replaced as it is a temp door that doesnt match at all and is not cut right so draft comes in around it.

Kitchen – Counter is just formica, its ugly and coming loose along the seams, need a whole new countertop, the cabinetry could stay but a few need new fronts, repainting them would help. There is a hole in the kitchen wall behind my fridge, B calls it the “Porthole” as it was where the original stove top exhaust was. My ex tore it all out, so I have this open hole with a fan and no exhaust fan for when Im cooking to use. The electrical is wired up to both light switches, so to run the cieling fan I cant turn the other light off. Ex also put in some built in wall shelve but didnt finish one side, so I need the shelves cut and put in. Need new back screen door as my door is hanging and doesnt stay shut and the screen is torn.

My Office – Needs new sliding glass doors. The trim that goes around the inside edges has rotted away so the glass does not fit in snugly, dust and dirt blows in around it, plus it just doesnt shut tight, the room gets stuff blown in. Need the electrical and phone jack set up properly as my ex just drilled a hole in the cieling where its all just coming down into the room. New Light fixture.

One Bathroom – Brand new shower stall, pan. And then the floor board put back down along the bottom as its been torn off since we moved in and looks crappy.

Oldest childs room – Bedroom door installed, and the phone outlet fixed as the cable got pushed inside the wall and i cant seem to rethread it back through. Eventually he can have a computer in there.

Laundry Room – Electrical fixed, it shorted out getting wet during a rain storm so my lights and outlets in there dont work, only the ones for my washer and dryer(thank god!)And the back door in their doesnt fit tightly either, dust and dirt comes in around it.

I need numerous outdoor window screens. They were missing when we moved in. I need a new garage door, its tacky,, and doesnt stay up and I dont have a garage door opener.

I need the house repainted. First off its GREEN, second its got some patches on the front now from when the plumbing was redone.

Little childs room – Need closet doors installed as hes never had them since we moved in. Also need a window replaced as one is bend and doesnt shut all the way and dirt blows in.

As far as windows goes? My whole house needs new windows. Its those 1960s crank out ones that offer no insulation.

I also could use an extention to the brick wall in the backyard as 2 sides to it are lower and you can see the neighbors. And a Brick wall put in on the left side where it borders with my neighbors ( this is the area outside my bedroom window, and all there is is a crappy wood fence, and the noisy dog right there.)

Oh and then the yard newly landscaped and some additional sprinklers put it( the edge along the curb the sprinklers dont work so I have to hand water the grass there.

WHEW! AND THEN!

Haha, Not that Im going to do all of that at this time. Just the main stuff for right now.

AND then theres my Jeep. I need to replace the Master Cylinder. Get the door locks redone(my driver door I cant even unlock anymore, have to go in through passenger door) and my AC charged as I have none right now and its getting HOT.

And then I need to take the dog in for his tumor, hes also limping alot, hip problems. Hes old.

Wow, cant believe my kids are all up too speed dentist wise, usually thats looming over us.

Im just trying to get my savings account going for the first time in forever. I have $20 deducted and put in a separate bank account elswhere with no PIN number or way to access it unless I go over there. Makes it easier to leave that money alone. Amazing how it adds up doing this just since Jan.

Had my first year of putting money in an IRA.

These things all feel good. I would eventually like to learn more about investing and all… but in due time.
