Watching a Couple
Dear Diary,
Well me and the kids took off for another day at the beach, got a later start, picked up boyfriend on the way. The wind picked up and it got a little chilly. But it was a good day still. The kids played in the water then on the beach playground. Boyfriend and I sat and chatted, we had a good time. We all played Slug Bug on the way there and back, we were playing as teams, us against the kids. They seemed to enjoy it. We also had a snack on the pier before we headed out. We dropped boyfriend off and I had a message on my cell from my married friend couple who Ive been spending time with. So we came home, showered then went to their home for a BBQ. We had a nice time, the kids enjoy them, C is so funny. Hes a cool guy, Ive always liked him. His wife is the one who is calling me, watching my kids, wants to go to the gym with me. Well the last trip to the beach I wrote about where she got upset over the type of bread C had and was all throwing a fit over it.
Well tonight as we were eating, they BBQed chicken. She said the meat wasnt cooked enough, so I cut mine and it was fine, she said the others werent. So C offered his wife his, She said no because he put mushrooms on it, he said hed take them off, she said No. She asked him to go BBQ it. Well he was BBqing next door at his grandparents since theres was broken, he told he couldnt because he already put it out and cleaned the grill. He said to put it in the microwave. She said NO, you can do that. At that point I offered her mine, I really didnt care, she could have it. He then told her she can wrap in foil and put it in the oven, she said NO again. Its interesting for me to watch, trying to wonder what is going on. She then came out at one point, she had a candle with 3 wicks on the table outside where we were eating, the kids and C were playing cards, well one wick was blown out. She said “C how long has that been out??” He just said I dont know, and she got all upset and snappy with him and walked in the house, then said “Whatever C!” I was like hmmm, C looks at me as she goes in the house and shakes his head. I asked him “Are things always like this or just sometimes?” He said “ALL THE TIME” and nodded. We both didnt say anything further. I can see its upsetting to him, Its a control thing of course, Its just weird watching it role reversed. So I dont know what to make of her quite yet. Im new to getting to know her, but i have known C for about 10 yrs. So I think I have a good grasp on what hes like. I do feel bad for him though, she seems very nit picky, hard to please, but insistant on things being done her way and wont let up.
