His Arms Retreat Pt. 2

Dear Diary,

After oldests group we picked up my youngest and went to the store to pick up a few things to eat, boyfriend is on a no carb during the week diet, so we went to get him a few things and some other things for dinner.

It was interesting, yet cute to watch my kids with him. Before oldests group he came up to boyfriend and touched the top of his hand, the veins, boyfriend works out so they are visible. So he took his little fingers and traced his veins in amazement. Then boyfriend did something to make them bulge out more and oldest goes “WOA!” and this other boy came in and saw his tattoo showing from his shirt sleeve and wanted to see.

At the store oldest wanted boyfriend to pick him up! haha I was wondering how he would respond to that. Hes not one of those overly bubbly affectionate people. Boyfriend is more serious, intellectual. Hes a person who bonds a lot thru communication, only I have the affectionate side of him as his girlfriend, which he is very affectionate to me.

So boyfriend hoisted him behind his back in this goofy carrying position which of course kids love. We got into the store and my oldest and boyfriend trailed off to get his things together.

We got home and I made hamburgers. Boyfriends just meat and cheese 🙂 And we all ate. Then the kids pulled out this Star Wars game and enlisted boyfriend to play. I was busy about making dinner just popping in now and then to see him laying on the floor playing the game, amused as my children were making up there own rules and he was just humoring them and asking them questions cause their rules were basically changing all the time so they could win. My little one came up and sat right against boyfriend as they played.

Its sweet to watch, yet also sad because you see how starved they are for male attention. Boyfriend and I have still kept it friend based around the kids. I think its better, they get to know him as a person and not “My boyfriend” first. So boyfriend and I just wink at times at eachother, stick out our tongues when they arent looking. Its kinda fun.

We then left for my youngest childs program. My girlfriend got to meet him, my one who wants to sell things all the time, she gave me the eye as soon as she saw him like “HEY!LOOKIE THERE!” lol and she told me the other Mom said to her “Does Victoria have a man yet, oh wait! OHHHHH” when they saw him with me.

We didnt stay very long, Oldest started to act up, making farting noises( ahh children) during the program and the little kids went first so we left early. We headed home and went and took the dog for a walk around the block. The kids started to get a bit goofy. I told boyfriend later they both want his attention. They seem to think people are coming over solely for them. So this is an area to work on with them, Mom has friends of her own also. But I also told boyfriend the people who have been around them my friends, are very hands on, silly and play at there level, so thats what they are used to. Boyfriend is a whole different breed.

I dont know if that is positive or not at this point. He is a totally new element in our lives, different demeanor. The whole opposite of my ex. This is not a bad thing, for him to be that way, and so I think its just an adjustment for me and them. Ive been with him for sometime and you start to learn one anothers quirks , personality, moods, communication patterns. So its not that he is bad the way he is, I just wonder how well his personality will fit into our lives. I think it actually may bring some balance, but I dont know.

They crowded around him last night as he was working on a computer for them, he took my old awhile ago and finally brought it back and was trying it out and putting parts back in. So he had his little computer tool kit and all. My oldest goes “WOW, you know everything!” Boyfriend is very muscular, and my oldest said at one point “Do you have muscles on your butt too?” lol! Hes very observant of physical features, and everything is asked so innocently. Its just funny.

Later on the kids were skating outside, and boyfriend was bending over and oldest says “Hey? Your hair, part of your head is bald? What happened to your hair?” lolololol I was smiling. Boyfriend said “Yep Im getting old” He looked at me and said “Oh my thank you for the reminder” haha, like I said, kids point out what they see. Boyfriend is young, soon to be 27. But his hair line is receding so he wears it all very short buzzed. I think hes sexy the way he is 🙂

We had a really good time together, some alone time after they went to bed. I needed that day away from things, It was a good thing I went to see him, I knew what I needed for myself, I took time out and did what I needed. Im so glad I have him in my life. I didnt have to worry about crying and thinking last night,he helped to make me forget, to feel other things, think about other things.
