So I’m thinkin that yesterday’s little “thing” between us needs to be dealt with and nipped in the bud so it will not happen again.

M and I have had our fights over the years but we have the luxury of being able to separate, go to our own rooms and basically get over it, even if it takes days. You and I don’t have that luxury as we have to work in the same room together and I refuse to feel uncomfortable in my own room because of tension in the air…

There are two things that happened that I think are the most important parts that need to dealt with.

You came in here asking me where to find 16mm cores. I told you I didn’t know where they were and suggested you look in the archive. I’m guessing that wasn’t the answer you were looking for since you didn’t leave the room to look for them and kept pushing it… The ONLY reason I got more forceful in my responses to you was because you kept repeating yourself and I really don’t know how much plainer I could have gotten with /”I don’t know where they are, go look in the archive.”/. On a general note, it doesn’t bother me one bit that you ask questions or ask where you could find something, heck I’ll ask before I go look for something to see if anyone can point me in the right direction, but there comes a point when you have to step up and take matters into your own hands and go look for yourself if the people you ask don’t know where that particular item is and tell you REPEATEDLY that they don’t know where it is. Now what annoyed me was the fact that you weren’t accepting that I didn’t know where they were and it also seemed that you wanted ME to go find them for you… Which leads me to the next part and is what really chapped my hide…

I am NOT here to do everything for you, you are a grown woman who is quite capable of doing things for yourself. I *AM* here to help you and for you to throw the comment out /”It seems nobody wants to help me”/ like you did was not only complete BS but really quite literally a slap in the face… I feel that I have bent over backwards (as have we all) to help you adjust to your new job duties. I used my experience in what system works for me to set up your work station and also told you to change it to what would work best for you if need be. I took you around and showed you the general area of where to find the supplies you need, I’ve answered ALL you questions to the best of my ability and shown you how to do the things you need to do. Since I was not the first person you asked about the cores I’m not sure why you felt the need to lash out at me with that comment, given all that I HAVE done, but I will say that it’s completely unacceptable and I will not tolerate it.

You have been here long enough to know how things work around here… Things get moved no matter what we do to try and prevent it, it the nature of the beast and it will never change. We ALL (BOSS included) know that we basically have to go on “seek and conquer” missions if we need to find something and we also know that boxes are not necessarily marked as to what they are so that may mean opening boxes to see what’s in them and if it’s what you’re looking for. Again, it’s the nature of the beast and not going to change anytime soon and something you really need to learn to deal with instead of relying on us to deal with it for you.

I don’t feel I am a hard person to get along with nor hard to work with but if I get pushed I WILL push back as you saw yesterday. I am here to help if you need it but I will not do for you the things that you are perfectly capable of doing/finding or whatever for yourself.
