Yay! Progress

Dear Diary,

Im feeling a little bit better. Got to talk to boyfriend a bit and vent a little. Hes cool about that. 🙂 Then somehow we got about talking about killing bugs, haha.

I have been talking to my girlfriend online this evening. Im reflecting on all the good things that have happened this past year. All my blessings. Ive had so many despite all the hard stuff. So I guess I want to put them down to see what they look like, how many blessings.

Jan 2001- Present History

Separated from my Ex, Filed for legal separation.

Invited to party where the NOW boyfriend and I first developed chemistry.

Dated him and had him there thru all the pain and tears and learned that all men dont treat women the way my Ex did.

Started back in Domestic Violence support group. Center moved and adopted new policies and I joined a new group. Excellent group, excellent leader.

I briefly attended Al Anon and learned more about my Families Alcoholic Background and its effects on me.

My Mother supplied finances and food when my Ex wasnt taking care of us.

My youngest qualified for a Private school scholarship when I was stressing over what to do with childcare. His schooling has no additional child care after school costs!

My oldest got accepted into a YMCA after school program that is free!

My employers supported me emotionally all year, were there to cry on, talk with and allow time off for children scheduling.

Employers gave me a Raise, Insurance benefits!

I went back one last time to try with Ex, everyone cringed at me doing this, but after my last attempt at trying and seeing how he hasnt changed it gave me a personal peace to end it with him and feel ok with God about it.

I have my own savings acct now with money in it!

I have paid off 2 debts on my own shared by the Ex and I!’

Children got free childrens therapy group to help with effects on them from the abuse!

Boyfriend remained my friend during the entire year and listening ear. He never left my side.

Now boyfriend and I are officially a “Exclusive Couple”

Wow what can happen in a year is amazing! I never dreamed Id be in this place!

Looking back over 3 years ago I never thought Id be able to have a job and work!

Gradually steps were taken and things were put in place.

Whats on my horizon?

Want to pay off all debts shared by Ex and I.

Want to refinance house and get Exs name off loan.

Want to Move and get my own “HOME” for kids and myself, a place void of memories of the bad marriage.

Want to have my savings acct established( 3 mos income put away at the least for a nest egg)

Want to do some traveling.
