Child Support Office Visit
Dear Diary,
Well I went, wow, so much nicer then other stuff I have dealt with and barely any wait either. And the woman told me I can call anytime and come in for a status update or bring paperwork direct. I think I will from now on turn ALL my paperwork in DIRECT. No more by mail, no more fax, cause well, nobody has done a damn thing.
OH! And guess what other wonderful news I found out. See my attny told me “You can go to the DA for past due medical and dental expenses” So I had the sheets filled out for all that also. In our divorce agreement we are to share uninsured medical/dental expenses 50/50. Well of course hes not helped since the divorce, So I took all the time do document month to month and his half as the sheet says. Well the lady informs me they cant do ANYTHING with the sheets. Since my court order doesnt specify a specific dollar amount?????
What the hell is that?
I am all “But I have receipts to prove all this?” She said “But we cant deal with all of that in court, you can go to court yourself and get a judgement and then a lump sum ordered from a judge THEN we can collect it for you”
You know??? Nobody has ever told me this. Not even my attny, but I also know the child support office has moved from the DA to a Child Support agency, I just went to the website today and see there info has changed and manual.
So the headache of me having to go to court to get a judgement against him for this stuff? Needless to say Ill just put that aside, child support is enough in and of itself…. Im not in the mood for court again and all that.. maybe someday down the line so I will just continue to save the receipts.
She said basically nobody has done an Audit on my case, she shows no record of the fax I sent even tho I had the sheet with the proof of transmission.
Whatever ya know? The system truly is backlogged terribly and needs to totally be reworked or more people hired to handle stuff.
So I need to get ex’s newest address, he gave me the apt complex name and apt number. well I need his building address so I drove by it on my way to get the kids from mom today….. I couldnt track down which building was his nor did I see his vehicle, so Im thinking tomm I will just drive by it with oldest and have him tell me which building is Dads since I found where its located, then I will give the child support agency the proper address.
I asked her about the DMV and suspending a drivers license, she said the problem is the agency doesnt have any idea when the DMV sends that out, some people get it right away, some people 6 mos get notified!
See this is what is flipping messed up?? They cant tell the custodial parent, the dmv cant give out that info, and basically you have no idea when he gets the notice and you have no idea if hes driving the kids around with a suspended license….
I basically want to see what happens once this case gets audited. HES WAY WAY WAY behind big time…..
Now just see how long it takes to get there!
