School and Kids

Dear Diary,

First off Renewal, I show you added to my Friends list and your name is on it, you might wish to email the people at Dear Diary to ask them what is up? Since I really dont know what else to do and your name is on my Friends list when I look at it.

Let me know if you figure this out or if there is anything else I need to do.

🙂

I was just going through Greatschools.com. Check it out if you havent, they list your schools profile, its testing scores, and you can compare with the schools in your area, etc…

So I check it today, for my kids. Their scale rating is basically 1-10 on the API Scores.

The results….

Where the kids are gets a 3
The school Im zoned but dont put the kids in gets a 2

The Junior High they will attend gets a 5
Where we are zoned gets a 1

Then you look at the higest scored ones….

Sundown( This one is on further end of my city(close the neighboring one below gets an 8) oooooo
Neighboring city elementary 7
Neighboring city Junior High 7

Sad huh?

Was talking to B about it, and he said “Sadly I think it has to do with the parents and socio economic status.” Which Id agree, all the higher scores are in the areas where the nicers more expensive areas to live are with more percentages of nicer neighborhoods.

My parents fall right at the verge, and would actually probably be under the one that scored the 8 if they lived up about 5 blocks or so.

Just scary you know? And its sad to see how poorly the schools are doing out here when I checked out the other locals ones also.
