Fires & Baby Birds

Dear Diary,

Morning.

Well there is another fire even closer this time. It started up yesterday in the local mountains. So that makes the third fire close to me now.

Those poor firefighters, Eeeks, fighting a fire in 100 degree weather. Bleh!

I guess this fire has moved over now the direction of where my bosses house is, They live in the mountains also.

They havent called evacuations yet, so we will see what happens today if bossman has to leave.

So yesterday the skies were once again filled with smoke.

The shower pan is out now. The guy said that the leak was so bad that I had tree roots growing down in it.

So its all chopped out, he now has to order the pan and that could take about a week, so they wont be working until that comes in. So I just went and vacuumed up all the residue and junk, vacuumed out the bathroom and the hall and the carpet and removed the plastic we put down( as they didnt come prepared to protect my carpet)

Oh and by the way, not sure if I wrote here, but my neighbors house is up for sale. 🙁 Damn this is all happening so fast you know?

People have been coming to look. My mom talked to a woman, who later came back with her husband and one of her kids, They look like decent people. Then another couple came with a baby, they were trash, had an expensive sporty car, but the woman was yelling at her toddler to shut up and smacking him and the kid was screaming and all, I was all “Oh please no” they ended up leaving while the kid was screaming, no realtor ever showed up to meet them so Im not sure what that was about.

So I was outside all last evening being nosey and watching, I mowed the front lawn, raked, cleaned up weeds and overgrown plants. Things look so nice now!

Also a lady from Burbank is supposed to come up this Sunday to pick up the furniture lot I sold. Its $50. So hey Ill get this stuff out, and some cash.

Im still not done painting the hallway. And I really need to paint today, as tomm Im getting my spa manicure and pedicure so I sure dont want to be painting after my nails are done. I know I wont finish the hall today but I can at least finish it up more then it is. Its more then half done anyways. I just need to do 2 door jams and some touch up stuff.

I also need a roller to do other doors I didnt do yet as the roller I had sucked.

Im so excited to go get my nails done tomm at that place, its so nice! And I wont have the kids or have to rush off like my last appt there. She did such a good job on my toe nails and it lasted forever!

I also attempted to rescue some baby birds that were on the ground yesterday, my youngest found them but there was no way to get them back up to their nests. Oh they were sooo cute, I put them up higher off the ground in a tree, and came out this AM to find one dead and covered in ants on the ground. 🙁

Ive tried so many times as a kid to save baby birds with no luck. And its so hot here they just get roasted left on the ground exposed. Just like one I found by my back door, my son saw the nest and we could see the baby in it, then I came out a few days later and there is was on the ground dead. aweeeeeeee 🙁

So today my kids leave. They will come back the last day of the month, then that following Monday they will start school!

Wow now didnt that summer just fly by or what?
