Retro Decor

Well just a sample of some of the stuff my Mother has given me. I have a dozen sets of these end tables, she also gave me the lamps, I just found the lampshades for them yesterday at Target. I looked all over! They look pretty cool, almost paper bag like with the grain in the paper showing when the light is on. I like them. Now Im just going to need to do some painting of the walls and changing some of my wall hangings. Since my home is an interesting mix of antique and country items. Im making things a bit more modern looking, still with a mixture of old though.

Mom was just here, she said she has a few more things to bring over. She told me she found her Chrome table in the storage room, but that its smaller then my own table and it has the blue swirly type marble formica top. Bummer! I wanted one with the red in it. Im so tempted to keep most of this stuff! Well Not all of it, but Im thinking of redooing one of my kids rooms, the oldest with it. His room is the smallest in the house, not a lot of wall space. So Im thinking of getting rid of his bed(not the mattress) because it takes up more space with the head and footboard. And then bringing in the retro style dresser and a shelf I have. I have to repaint his room anyways, all I would need is some new bedding and his room would actually be very stylish and retro. I think it would be cool!

I cant wait to have a yard sale though! Get rid of some of this stuff! But I also need to search around for a place where I can either consign or sell off the really cool stuff. Boyfriend said “Why not?” to me in regards to renting something to load it all to downtown LA to sell it in one of those types of stores. But after you pay the rental fee to lug it down, the work it will take to do so, and consingment fees, just wonder how it all will add up. I will have to do some research, which I just dont have much time for these days! But this is the type of stuff you know somebody would just love! Who decorates 50’s style.

I was reading Jen’s diary, I was watching the Trading Spaces also. I did see the hay one, I watched it awhile back with my mother and we were both mortified when they did that! Oh and the woman who was so unhappy with her living room and cried and had to leave! I didnt think the room looked bad though, it was just too modern for their liking.

Im really trying to figure out how to paint my living room! I have no idea, I get ideas but then they pass. So now I guess Im stumped again. :::Sigh::: I have so many projects to do around here! Focus Focus!

I need to pick one and just go with it!
